Policy Guidelines for Admission to Primary Section
1. Eligibility Criteria for Admission
- LKG Admission Age Requirement: As per CBSE guidelines, the minimum age for admission in LKG is 4 years as on 31st March of the respective year.
- Admission in Other Classes: Admission in subsequent classes will follow the same age criteria.
- Priority for Railway Wards: Priority will be given to the children of Railway employees. After completing the admission process for Railway wards, non-Railway candidates will be considered only if seats remain vacant, subject to the approval of the Competent Authority.
2. Application Process
- Online Application: An online link will be made available for admission to Eastern Railway High School, Kanchrapara.
- Documents to be Submitted:
- Railway Employees: Railway employees must submit their identity card and the last month’s pay slip.
- Non-Railway Candidates: A reference from a Railway employee is mandatory. Supporting documents related to the Railway employee’s details should also be provided.
- Proof of Identity: One of the following documents should be provided:
- Aadhar Card
- Election Identity Card
- Telephone Bill
- Ration Card
3. Stages of Admission Process
- Availability of Seats: The number of available seats in each class and section will be decided by the Competent Authority and will be displayed on the school notice board based on the recommendation of the School Committee.
- Encouraging Online Applications: Submission of online applications is encouraged and will be insisted upon to ensure complete transparency in the admission process.
- Admission Timeline:
- The timetable for the admission process, as outlined in Annexure-A, will be published on the notice board in advance.
- The admission timetable must be strictly adhered to. No extension will be provided for the last date of application.
4. Admission Selection Process
- For Admission in Classes Other Than LKG:
- If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available seats, an admission test will be conducted.
- An eligibility list will be published based on the merit list.
- In case of ties (same marks), priority will be given to the older child based on the date of birth.
- For LKG Admission:
- If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available seats, a lottery system will be used to select candidates.
5. Transparency and Management Oversight
- The admission process will be entirely transparent. The Head of the Institute will ensure that there is no cause for suspicion or confusion among Railway employees.
6. Multiple Form Submissions:
- Submitting Multiple Application forms for the same candidate - either for the same class or multiple classes - will result in cancellation of all applications.
7. Non-Refundable Online Registration fees:
- The online application fees (Rs.300) is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- It is the applicant's responsiblity to check the vacancy status of the selected class before submitting the application.
8. Incomplete or incorrect applications:
- Applications will be cancelled if any contain:
- Incomplete information.
- Incorrectly uploaded documents.
- Wrong or Invalid payment screenshots.
